Halloween is on Saturday this year, and we all could use a fun event.
DPIA is organizing a Socially Distanced Halloween Costume Parade, around Desnoyer Park, starting at 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 31st. This will be for both adults and kids dressed for the occasion.
There will be fun halloween music playing as we walk the perimeter. We can social distance as we circle the park, wearing protective face masks (maybe ones that match your costume). Halloween masks with nose/mouth cutouts are not sufficient.
DPIA will provide bags with candy for the kids attending. We would love, love, love donations of wrapped candy and wrapped small trinkets for these bags as well. Please drop them off at 607 Clifford St by Friday Oct 30th. Kids can pick them up at the end of the parade (bags will be for those 16 years and younger).
Kids from the neighborhood could make Halloween decorations to hang on the fencing (to be put up that day and of course removed at the end of the party. Everyone would be responsible for the placing and removal of your decoration.
Some fun Halloween flashlights or noise makers, that kids normally use for trick or treating would also be welcomed as it would just add to the festivities.
Please arrive early and get in line before the parade starts at 3:30 PM. The starting point will be on the sidewalk next to the Desnoyer Park sign, near the building (along the Pelham side). We will mark the sidewalk to indicate where your family should stand to wait for the parade to begin.
Please come and have fun with you neighbors, winter is just around the corner so we need to make some good times now.
